Beeton Fair features 4-H Achievement Day

The cows were on parade at the Beeton Fair Sept. 13 for the Bradford/Beeton 4-H Dairy Club Achievement Day.

The event also included an inter-club show featuring members from the Clearview, Cookstown and Sutton clubs.

In the showmanship category, Ashley O’Hara was named inter-club and Bradford/Beeton champion, while Rachel Stephenson won both reserve awards.

Ms O’Hara and Ms Stephenson won the senior and intermediate showmanship divisions, respectively.

Emily Stephenson won the junior division.

In the conformation category, Rachel Stephenson won the Bradford/Beeton championship and the inter-club reserve award.

Katrina Carruthers was the inter-club champion and Ashley O’Hara was the Bradford/Beeton reserve champion.

Rachel Stephenson won the junior calf division, Shelby Pegg won in intermediate heifer, Ms Carruthers won in senior heifer and Matthew Keffer won in summer yearling.

In the group of three calves competition, the Bradford/Beeton team of Zack Baker, Ms O’Hara and Rachel Stephenson won. Ms O’Hara won the Earl Woodrow Trophy and Rachel Stephenson won the Ernie Severn Memorial Trophy.

The day began with the boys and girls special division, in which children younger than 10 led a calf. The participants were Nicole Brethet, Ashley Harvey, Ryan Harvey, Leo O’Hara, Wes O’Hara, Braydon Lloyd, Brooklyn Lloyd, Anne Marie Norton, Brandon Reynolds, Tasha Reynolds and Alexander Richardson.
