The election campaign focused too much on personal attacks and too little on the issues, according to some Bradford voters.

A few voters at the polling station at the Bradford and District Memorial Community Centre shared similar thoughts.

"There was too much finger pointing. Even my children noted that. It's not about the issues anymore," Lisa Veloso, whose children are 14 and 12, said.

"The issues weren't there. It was just a slandering contest," Ron Visser said. "The governing party didn't even have a platform until a week ago."

One candidate dominated the local discussion, Paul Veloso said.

"I think we heard more from (incumbent Peter) Van Loan than anyone else," he said. "It would have been more interesting to hear from the others."

As for the outcome of the election, Mr. Visser said there's one big thing he'd like to see: "(That it) keeps jobs in Ontario."
