A pair of power outages have left more than 10,000 York Region residents in the dark this morning.

According to Hydro One’s website, the first was just before 8 a.m. after a vehicle hit a hydro pole.

That incident affected 30 people in the King Township area.

The second, which occurred at about 11a.m. affected about 10,825 people Whitchurch-Stouffville, Markham and East Gwillimbury.

Hydro One has not determined what caused the second power outage.

The first was restored by 11 a.m., but officials estimate the second won’t be restored until sometime this afternoon.
