Rest can expect power after 4 p.m.: Hydro One

Power has been restored for more than 7,000 residents after blackout occurred at about 11 a.m. today in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Markham and East Gwillimbury.

According to Hydro One’s website, most of the people got their power back sometime between noon and 1 p.m.

Another 2,700 are still waiting for the lights to come back on, which Hydro One estimates could occur after 4 p.m.

The power company still has not confirmed what caused the outage that affected more than 10,000 residents this morning.
