A Markham man and woman were charged and a three-year-old child placed
in the custody of the Children’s Aid Society after two addresses were
raided in connection with a drug probe.
Wednesday,
York Regional Police drug officers used warrants at homes on Greensboro
Drive in the Kennedy Road and Denison Street area of Markham and on
Mansbridge Crescent in the Rossland and Salem roads area of Ajax.
During
the course of the investigation, police seized 306 marijuana plants, a
fully-automatic Cobray M11 submachine gun and ecstasy tablets, police
reported
Tuesday. A three-year-old was placed in the custody of York Region CAS.
A
man and woman, both 45, of Markham were charged with production of
marijuana, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking,
theft of electricity, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of
a prohibited device, possession of a firearm with ammunition and
careless storage of ammunition. A publication ban has been imposed on
the case’s court proceedings.
