Play examines women’s issues
For Home and Country is a play that introduces the story of the Women’s Institutes to a modern, urbanized Ontario.
It provides everyone, including women’s institute members, family and friends, with a look at the past and present of Women’s Institutes and demonstrates the contributions this organization has made to social and educational aspects of Ontario history.
The Nobleton Women’s Institute’s 100th anniversary celebrations this year includes the staging of For Home and Country, written by Leanna Brodie.
Performances run July 8 at 7 p.m., July 9 at 2 p.m. and July 10 at 7 p.m. at The Country Day School’s Performing Arts Centre, 13415 Dufferin St. in King.
