The St. Louis Blues acquired Newmarket resident Brandon (B.J.) Crombeen on waivers from the Dallas Stars Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Crombeen, a second-round draft pick of the Stars in 2003, had one goal and four assists in 15 game with Dallas this season.

Crombeen, who made his NHL debut last season with Dallas, played much of his minor hockey career with the York Simcoe Express before moving on to play for the Jr. A Newmarket Hurricanes and Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League.

Crombeen’s father, Mike, played five seasons of his eight-season career in St. Louis.
