Several other high school athletes place at Hamilton meet
Several athletes representing Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Woodbridge and Vaughan ran off with high provincial honours when they took to the track in Hamilton at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations track and field championships.
Amilia DiChiara of St. Robert Catholic High School earned a silver in the senior women’s 100-metre hurdles and bronze in the 400m hurdles.
Ariana Jorgensen of Emily Carr Secondary School was another double medallist after earning silver in the midget girls’ 300m hurdles and bronze in the 80m hurdles.
Among other noteable efforts recorded by area students were:
• Dwayne Clarke of Emily Carr Secondary School with fourth in the junior boys’ high jump;
• Carl Shen of Thornhill Secondary School was sixth in the senior boys’ triple jump;
• Rodney Fajardo of St. Elizabeth Catholic High School was fifth in the midget boys’ long jump; and;
• Molly Dyon of Toronto Waldorf School was sixth in the midget girls’ 1,500m.
