Three Markham-area golfers came close to garnering top honours when they took to the Royal Woodbine Golf Club links Monday and Tuesday in the Canadian Junior Golf Association’s Adams Golf Junior Classic.
Max Maddigan, 15, finished second in the Boys 14-16 division after firing an eight-over par 150 (77-73) through the two-day event.
Maddigan finished one shot behind winner Matthew LaRiviere of Richmond Hill.
In the Boys 13 and under group, Nicholas Crozier, 13, fired a 10-over par, 152 (74-78) through the two-day competition to place second.
He was five shots behind winner Joseph Kremer of Don Mills.
Mike Mound, 17, shot a two-round, 12-over par 154 (78-76) to take second place in the Boys 17-19 division.
Mound finished four shots behind winner Michael Ayotte of Whitby.
