A Thornhill man has been charged in connection with several boat thefts in Northumberland County.

As a result of an investigation by Ontario Provincial Police in the Brighton/Port Hope area, a 21-year-old Thornhill man, who police said is a former Brighton resident was arrested.

He is charged with theft over $5,000, two counts of failing to comply with probation and possession of property obtained by crime.

He is scheduled to appear in a Brighton court on Oct. 1.
