There is new leadership at Vaughan Public Library.
Margie Singleton has been appointed as chief executive officer.
She’s held a variety of positions with the libraries in the last eight years.
Most recently as the organization’s director of planning and communications, library board chairperson Gino Rosati said.
“She brings an informed, well-rounded perspective, along with significant experience from other library systems to the position of chief executive officer,” he said in a press release.
“In her position as a member of the senior management team, Mrs. Singleton was instrumental in the creation of Vaughan Public Libraries’ most recent strategic plan, Today for Tomorrow 2008-2011, and the board is delighted she will be here to implement the vision set out in the plan and guide the future of Vaughan Public Libraries.”
The new executive officer has library users in mind as she plans for the future, she said.
“This is an exciting time to be taking on the leadership of Vaughan Public Libraries,” Mrs. Singleton said in the release.
“The City of Vaughan is growing rapidly and Vaughan Public Libraries will continue to deliver value to the citizens of Vaughan with excellence in library services that is highly visible (and) responsive to customers, through the development of facilities, collections, services and programs that meet the city’s evolving needs.”
