Food bank benefits, too, from charity barbecue
By: David Fleischer
Vaughan’s business owners are all fired up about their successful fundraising effort.
The Vaughan Business Enterprise Centre last Friday hosted their sixth annual fundraising barbecue to benefit the Vaughan Health Care Foundation and food bank.
More than $1,100 was raised for the foundation, which supports the building of a hospital in Vaughan.
Nearly one tonne of food and beverages was collected and donated to the Vaughan Food Bank.
“Our Vaughan annual charity community BBQ just keeps getting better each year, with enormous support from our business community, founders and supporters,” centre manager Teresa Saraceno said.
“We take pride in creating an annual event where the community can come out and enjoy great foods and refreshments, and support two very important community causes,” she said.
The enterprise centre provides resources for new and existing business owners in Vaughan.
