York Regional Police are hunting a number of people after two separate armed robberies at a pair of Woodbridge coffee shops.
On Sunday at about 4:45 a.m., two men — one armed with a knife — walked into the Coffee Time at 5655 Hwy. 7 west, near Martin Grove Road and demanded cash while a third person waited outside in a blue Honda Civic, police said.
The men took cash and cigarettes before jumping into the Civic and were last seen headed east on Hwy. 7.
An employee of the shop was not hurt during the heist.
The man with the knife is described as Caucasian, 20-years-old, six-feet-tall with a thin build and short brown hair. He was wearing a dark blue jacket and baseball cap.
The other man is Caucasian, 20-years-old, five-feet 10-inches tall with a thin build and was wearing black pants, a blue jacket and blue cap.
Investigators do not have a description of the driver of the Civic.
Police also continued searching for three men they have connected to a hold-up at a Coffee Time at 8575 Hwy. 27, north of Langstaff Road on Friday morning.
At about 5:10 a.m., the men — one armed with a black automatic handgun — walked into the store and demanded cash, police said.
The men stole two cash registers with money inside, cigarettes and a laptop computer before getting into a two-door, dark vehicle and driving off in an unknown direction.
An employee suffered minor injuries.
The man packing the handgun is Caucasian, between 20 and 30-years-old, five-feet five-inches tall, with a thin build and has short brown hair. At the time, he was wearing dark blue jeans.
The other two men are both black, between 20 and 30-years-old, five-feet five-inches tall with thin builds. Both were wearing dark blue jeans and black ski masks covering their faces.
As of Tuesday, police were not linking the two robberies, according to hold-up unit Det.-Sgt. Bob Wassink.
