Kleinburg’s celebrating it’s 160th birthday next weekend and you’re invited.
The Kleinburg BIA is hosting a birthday bash Saturday, with celebrations all over town.
There will be outdoor music, kids’ games, clowns, balloons, a cornroast and a cake cutting, said BIA chairperson Dawna Guglielmi.
The Royal Bank will also hold a barbecue celebrating its 104 years in the village.
There will also be activities that wouldn’t be out of place at a village event a century ago.
“We’re going to have some old-fashioned games, a wagon ride and a petting zoo,” Ms Guglielmi said.
The event is free and runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Kleinburg beginnings are traced to 1848, when John Kline, a Swiss watchmaker, built a mill in the area.
The Kline mills served local farmers and also acted as a hub in the village’s growing commercial sector.
