Want to hit a fabulous party, catch a hilarious show and support a great cause, all in one stop?

Head on over to Next Door Lounge Friday night as they host a viewing party for a Mr. Friday show featuring Woodbridge frozen dessert maker Dorgel. The party, which will include food and entertainment, will raise money for a pancreatic cancer charity.

Mr. Friday, which airs on the Slice specialty channel, follows Derek Friday, an ex-glamour model and dancer who is forced by his mother to switch places with a deserving employee of a company each week in exchange for his weekly trust fund cheque.

A show spokesperson says Mr. Friday does this happily, despite his “complete lack of practical skills”.

Mr. Friday swapped places with Dorgel employee Anna Coscarelli for a shoot in March.

He was kept busy that day, explained Maria Pattara, the controller for the group of companies, which includes Dorgel, the Ice Cream Patio and Next Door Lounge.

“He had to go into the plant itself and roll ice cream and tartufos,” she said, adding that he also filled in at reception and attending a product meeting.

Mr. Friday was also given the challenge of finding a new singer for Dorgel manager Nick Lucchese’s band, through a Canadian Idol-style audition process, Ms. Pattara said.

Upon the show’s wrap, the company knew there was no better way to celebrate the show’s airing than to throw a fun event for a good cause.

And Ms Pattara added the company throws great parties.

All proceeds from the festivities will be going to the Dick Aldridge Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, which supports research into the early detection of pancreatic cancer, support for newly-diagnosed patients and lobbies the government for more research funding.

The cost to attend the screening party is $10.

That includes food, beverages and desserts, provided by Dorgel. the Ice Cream Patio, the Next Door Lounge and Pizzaville.

You get to hear great entertainers including Anne Morrone, Jocelyn Mercer and Sensation Live Music.

The Mr. Friday episode will air at 8 p.m.

The party will be this Friday at Next Door Lounge, 129 Rowntree Dairy Road in Woodbridge.

Doors open at 7 p.m.
