What do you get when you mix comedy with rock ’n’ roll, hip hop and R and B?
This Saturday night at Cedar Beach Pavilion on Musselman’s Lake, that’s what.
It’s called The Hop, Rock and Chuckle Show.
If that’s not enough entertainment for you, you’re invited to join in a show-opening drum circle.
Hosted by comic Johnny Legend, the show features an evening full of entertainers.
The show starts at 8 p.m.
The hip-hop/R and B segment runs from 9 to 10 p.m., featuring Kidd Rizz, Fully, Stoneface, Licenced! and Imaan Faith.
York Region-based Imaan “creates an inspiring, positive message through an optimistic lyrical gift,” said show producer Andrew Ross Geladaris.
Andrew Risi, A.K.A. Kidd Rizz, is a hip-hop artist with an appreciation for classic rock, which he incorporates into his show.
At 10, it’s the comics, including Johnny Legend, Andre Arruda and Gavin Stephens.
You’ll likely recognize Mr. Stephens. His work on The Comedy Network and CTV drew solid reviews.
He’s performed at the Just For Laughs festival and has appeared in several TV shows and movies, including The Tuxedo with Jackie Chan. He’s been voted one of the top comics in the country and was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award.
Mr. Legend is busy on the Canadian entertainment scene, doing his comedy and hosting rock shows.
Andrew Ross and Jeff Topp headline the rock ’n’ roll show at 11:30 p.m. You must be 19 or older to get in.
Tickets are $14 in advance or $17 at the door.
