The internationally assembled exhibit, Aligning with Beauty, opens Nov. 23 at the Varley Art Gallery.

Five themes exploring the concept of beauty are represented at the show, organized by guest curator Julie Oakes, who has master’s degrees in visual arts from New York University and social and political science from the New School for Social Research in New York.

“Aligning with Beauty is an exhibition in which beauty is embodied in art, where beauty is both the subject and the object. We get such an overriding sensation when beauty allows us to partake in the nature of happiness,” Ms Oakes said.

Thirty-five works will be present under the Varley’s roof on Main Street Unionville.
