Thornton Bales |
Thornton Bales Conservation Area is located atop the Oak Ridges
Moraine, home to some of the most picturesque scenery in Ontario. It’s
famous for its “99-steps”, which takes hikers on a 54-metre descent
down a steep embankment into the valley below. There are a total of 2
kilometres of well-groomed trails through vibrant woods where the
solitude is complete and the beauty enthralling.
Location: Mulock Drive, 3 km west of Yonge Street

Pine Farms Orchards |
Country charm at its best. Pine Farm Orchards is a family run operation
that started back in the mid-1940s. A pick-your-own apple orchard,
visitors can choose from 16 varieties grown on dwarf trees for ease of
harvesting. Recent additions include a bake shop, tea room, and gift
shop. The orchard is available for school tours and family functions.
In December, Pine Farms re-opens for cut-your-own Christmas trees and a
quaint Christmas store.

Wildflower Farm |
Wildflower Farm is a garden centre that specializes in selling unique
and often rare varieties of wildflowers. You can also browse through a
unique gift shop, pick your own flowers from designated fields, observe
educational wildflower demonstrations and seminars, and enjoy the
natural tapestry of colours in wildflower gardens and meadows. A picnic
area offers a place to enjoy a brief respite.
