Frederick Horsman Varley Art Gallery |
Inspired by and named for Frederick Horsman Varley, one of the Group of
Seven and its finest portrait painter, this gallery is located in a
quaint 1840 home and features a permanent collection of Varley
paintings. Other exhibits change frequently, drawing from local,
national, and even international sources. Courses, lectures, tours,
workshops, and studio courses are provided as well, and there is a gift
shop full of unique items.

Markham Museum |
At the Markham Museum, visitors uncover Markham’s 200-years of history
through the historic buildings of a 25-acre pioneer village. Highlights
include an 1875 general store, a schoolhouse (original to the
location), a church, and an unparalleled train display. Exhibits in the
modern interpretive centre trace the development of Markham Township.
The museum hosts a variety of year-round activities and events.
