Stephanie Klein carded a two-round, 24-over 168 to finish second in the girls division of the Canadian Junior Golf Association Junior Series/Stephen Ames Cup Qualifier at South Muskoka Golf and Country Club near Bracebridge Sunday.
The 17-year-old Thornhill resident had rounds of 85 and 83 to finish 11 shots off the pace by Lauren Bowerman-Ritchie of Bowmanville, who had a 157 (78-79) and was 13-over par.
For Klein it, marked her second second-place effort in as many outings this season on the CJGA
tour.
Among other local results, Taylor Pendrith, 17, of Richmond Hill finished fifth in the boys 17-19 division.
Pendrith had a two-round, 14-over par 158 (83-75) and finished four shots behind winner Spencer Heide of Bradford, who had a 10-over par 154 (81-73).

Kim continues to score in golf qualifiers
Tae Won Kim, 13, won his third Canadian Junior Golf Association tournament of the season last week after carding a 12-over par 121 to win his division title in the Euro Golf Cup Qualifier/Lipton Brisk Canada at the Paris Grand Golf Club and Inns in Paris, Ont.
Competing in the Boys 13 and under group, the Richmond Hill resident fired a first-round 80 Saturday and second-round, rain-shortened 41 Sunday.
Kim won the event by three shots over Nicholas Crozier, 13, of Unionville.
