Police charge pair in Georgina graffiti incidents

Police have charged a man and youth in connection with a rash of graffiti in Georgina.

Between May 31 and June 18, 2008, 11 incidents of graffiti with the same tags — “Cheez Whiz” and “Genocide” — appeared in the Keswick area, painted on local businesses and road signs.  Damage is estimated to be close to $10,000.

Following an investigation, police searched two homes in Georgina, seizing what officers refer to as "evidence related to the graffiti" as well as marijuana.
 
A 17-year-old male youth  from Georgina is  charged with eight counts of mischief and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.  He will appear in a Newmarket court July 30.
 
An 18-year-old Georgina man is charged with 11 counts of mischief and will be in court July 29.
