Charlie Woo is making his playing debut at this week’s Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville.

The 26-year-old Markham resident and 2002 Ontario amateur men’s champion was one of four Canadians earning a spot in the open after carding a 67 during Monday’s qualifying tournament at Rattlesnake Point course in Milton.

A former member of the University of Louisville men’s golf team, Woo was playing professionally on the Japanese tour.

He is one of 19 Canadians in the tournament, which begins today.
