The work of Group of Seven painters, photographers, pop artists and more- artists of both Canadian and International acclaim- resides in the heart of Aurora, Ontario. The Wellington Gallery carries “collection-quality original art”, which it proudly exhibits in more than 3000 square feet of exhibition space. The beautiful, newly renovated gallery sells art suitable for both private and corporate collections, but is equally welcoming to the simply curious art lover. Why not explore the work of Steve Kaufman, whose artwork hangs in the Whitehouse? Why not delight in David Willardson's depictions of Disney characters? After all, admission is free.
The pieces displayed in the gallery span a wide variety of genres and characters. Artwork ranges from the abstract to the classical, from pop-art to landscape, from sculpture to still life; there is something for all tastes at the Wellington Gallery. The current exhibition features the work of contemporary painters Henry Asencio and Vidan, whose deeply sensual portrayals of feminine beauty are sure to stir the emotions of all viewers. Asencio's work, which he regards as an expression of internal dialogues, is as striking as it is elegant and unusual. Vidan, an Italian artist whose work has been featured on the covers of romance novels and in publications such as Vogue Italia, brings out the inner emotions of his subjects in his highly expressive paintings. This exhibition, entitled “Human Form”, ran until June 10, 2007.
Wellington Gallery is located at 32 Wellington Street West in Aurora, near the intersection of Wellington and Yonge Streets. For more information, call (905) 751-0066 or visit
