Providing a beach-like atmosphere all year round, the Wave Pool is a popular location for school groups, birthday parties, and more.

Located in the Lois Hancey Aquatic Centre in Richmond Hill, the pool features 4-foot high waves, a 160-foot twisting waterslide, and a bodysurfing beach area. With mats and floating toys galore, there is always something to do.

While younger children and weaker swimmers may prefer the simulated beach, the deep end has the largest waves for more of a challenge. All areas of the pool are safe and supervised by the pool's fully trained lifeguards, especially the slide, the pool's most popular attraction.

To promote safety, the waves are turned off while the slide is open. Life jackets are also available at no charge. For something more relaxing, the facility also has an on-deck sauna and a large hot tub with sprinklers and water jets.

The Wave Pool is completely wheelchair accessible. The building and the pool itself both feature entry ramps, and the hot tub is equipped with a wheelchair lift and a specially designated therapeutic section.

The pool, which is open daily from 6:30am until 10pm, also offers swimming lessons for all age and skill levels. For fitness swimming, the pool features three 25-metre lanes. Change rooms are available for exclusive male, female, and family use, to ensure the comfort of all in a convenient format.

No matter your skill level and regardless of the season, the only indoor wave pool in the Greater Toronto Area is worth a visit.

The Wave Pool is located at 5 Hopkins Street in Richmond Hill. For more information, call (905) 508-9283 (WAVE), or visit The Wave Pool website.
