Back in 1954 the curtains raised for a small theatre company destined to play a significant role in the artistic diversity of Richmond Hill.

The Curtain Club began with 25 members performing shows in halls and schools. In 1961 the troupe moved into a former service garage which was converted into a 97-seat auditorium. A decade later, in 1972, the current facility known as The Curtain Club Theatre, was erected. The building underwent expansion in the 1980s to its present capacity.

Before they went on to enjoy incredible success on television, The Royal Canadian Air Farce  debuted on CBC Radio recording live from The Curtain Club for the first several years.

The Curtain Club produces five plays each season, delighting patrons with each stage show. The company has been recipients of extensive awards recognizing excellence in community theatre productions across the province and is a member of the Association of Community Theatres andTheatre Ontario.

The Curtain Club is located at 400 Newkirk Road. For more information call 905-737-1795 or visit www.thecurtainclub.org. For tickets call the box office at 905-773-3434.
