In days gone by, zealous consumers converged at outdoor markets, commonly the hub of commercial and social activity.
Newmarket Main Street Farmers’ Market, reminiscent of those pioneer days, was established in 2000 to help revitalize Newmarket’s historic downtown core.
Every Saturday in spring through fall, the parking lot at Doug Duncan Drive and Timothy Street transforms into an emporium filled with locally grown farm fresh produce as well as homemade baking, homespun crafts, beautiful flowers and more!
The initiative has proven to be successful with more than 30 vendors and an average of 800 eager patrons each day.
A community service tent for used by local groups is on-site and many special events are held throughout the season including music, wagon rides, clowns and face painting. Master gardeners are also on hand to answer horticultural questions. There is also a special indoor Christmas market in December.
This is your one-stop destination for delicious fruits and vegetables, mouthwatering desserts and a unique and alluring selection of items for home and garden.
Newmarket Main Street Farmers’ Market is open Saturdays early May through late October from 8 am - 1 pm. For more information call 905-830-8983 or visit
